Kingdom Confidence

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord; whose confidence is in Him.”  Jeremiah 17:7 (NIV)

Confidence is so much more than a statement. True confidence starts in the heart. Confidence is a belief that comes from deep within that says, “I am confident because I know who my source of confidence is.” Therefore, we can STAND with confidence, SPEAK with confidence, and WALK with confidence because we know where our confidence comes from.

God has been teaching me the importance of having confidence in Him. The world's definition of confidence comes from a place of success, money, power and accomplishments. Confidence that is found in this world can be shaken and destroyed, but confidence found in God can withstand it all. When your confidence is placed in God, it is not based on your achievements, or monetary gains, but rather in our relationship with God. This is called Kingdom confidence. It is knowing that He is faithful and trustworthy. It is not controlled by this world and only God can give it. It is unshakeable!

There is a shift that happens in our hearts and minds when we choose to place our confidence in God. We are no longer bound to the limitations of this world because God is a limitless God. God uses the seasons of our lives to teach us and make us more like Him, if we allow Him. Through seasons, our confidence in God becomes a place of strength, but it requires faith and trust.  Confidence in God has a language. It says, “I trust you even when I don’t understand”, “Father, I know you will make a way for me”, and “I will trust and wait for your timing, Lord.”

Perhaps you are in a season of waiting. Maybe your confidence has been challenged because God’s timeline is different from what you had planned.  Insecurity rises. The urge for control is pulsating and fear creeps in.  We must remind ourselves of God’s pattern of faithfulness and remember we can trust in Him because of who He is. We must allow God to show us His ways so that we can boldly live the life He has created for us to live. We must trust His timeline for our lives.  It is through this trust that we can have an unshakeable confidence in God: A Kingdom Confidence.

In the waiting, we are all given a choice. Will you trust God or not?  I had to put on spiritual eyes and ears to see and listen to what the Lord wanted to do. I heard the Lord say, “Trust me and wait and I will provide.” The moment I decided to fully trust God with the desires of my heart, I had total peace. Although I might not understand at times, I continue to trust and place my confidence in God.

I want my heart to be aligned with His plan and timeline for my life. I do not want to be a step behind or ahead because I know His ways are higher and better than my own. That doesn’t mean that I do not experience emotions or go through periods of grief and longing. I am still human, but it gives me focus to seek God and allow Him to strengthen me spiritually.

This has been transformational for me. Sometimes God uses seasons of waiting to birth spiritual things before things are birthed in the natural. If we allow these seasons of waiting to be surrendered to God, He can turn a season of waiting into a season of something beautiful and NEW. The Bible says:

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life - Proverbs 13:12. I believe that these seasons are in preparation for His promises.

All through Scripture, there are people like you and me who have experienced seasons of waiting. They had to make choice to fully trust God or not. I think of Sarah, Hannah, Abraham, and Jacob, just to name a few. When we read about their stories, we can clearly see that God had a specific timeline and process for their lives.  In a moment, anything can change. As I look back on this past decade, God has strengthened my faith in Him and pulled me out of my comfort zone. He has made spiritual dreams become realities.

Even in seasons of waiting, God births NEW things within us that we don’t even know are there, but He does. It is when we press in and surrender that God can birth and prepare us for greater things.

Each of us have a road marked out by God and each path has a purpose.  We can gain perspective and grow as we embrace these times. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus so that we do not miss what God wants to do within us.

1 John 5:14, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

I know God hears my prayers and I know that He hears your prayers.

It is time for women who are Kingdom daughters, to awaken and fully place their trust in God, following His plans and purposes without compromise.

No matter how many seasons you have experienced, I believe that each one has value and purpose for which God will use for His glory.  For every season there is an opportunity to fully trust God and walk in Kingdom confidence. God can restore the seasons that the locusts have taken.

No season is ever wasted or destroyed.

Ladies, we need each other.  Your story and experience can encourage and empower others, but we must be willing to step out. My prayer is that God will give you Kingdom confidence and surround you with seasoned women who will pray for you. I pray that your hope will not be deferred. Remember that God is working and moving even when you cannot always see it. Hold onto your promise. Do not give up and stand on His truth. Continue to trust the Lord, place your hope in Him and allow God to birth spiritual dreams and new things while in the waiting.

For those of you who have walked through a season of waiting and are now holding your promises, let me encourage you to remember God’s faithfulness. I pray that you will rise and stand with others who are in difficult seasons of waiting.  My prayer and hope for daughters across all generations is this:

No matter what season you are in, rise with boldness, fully surrender, choose to trust, be willing to obey and hold onto hope for His glory. God created you to walk in His confidence. He is your source.

Be on guard because the enemy loves to remind Kingdom daughters of their insecurities, weaknesses, and past hurts.  Be aware that the enemy will be on your heels, waiting for that moment to discourage you. Satan looks for that open door to speak lies that you are weak or not enough. He will try to paralyze you with fear and anxiety.  It is in these moments when you remember the times when God was faithful. Stand firm and destroy the enemy with truth and declare:

  • I am the head and not the tail

  • I am the daughter of the one true King, therefore, I cannot be shaken

  • I am created for such a time as this

  • My confidence is in the Lord

  • The Lord has restored me and forgiven me

  • I am called, therefore, God has equipped me

  • I have Kingdom authority

  • My voice has value to the Kingdom

  • My life has value

  • God is for me and not against me

  • Get behind me Satan

I believe one of the characteristics that sets God’s people apart is this Kingdom confidence. In life, we will go through many different seasons; seasons that are equipping, seasons that are challenging, seasons that are grieving, seasons that are a blessing, seasons with fulfilled promises, seasons that are short and seasons that are long. The mark that sets God’s sons and daughters apart is our unfailing confidence in Him.

Jeremiah 17:7 states, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord; whose confidence is in Him.”

We find that there is a blessing in trusting and placing our confidence in God in any season of life. There is hope. We can have confidence when we don’t know how we are going to get from point A to point B because God is leading the way. We can have confidence when we don’t understand the entire plan because we know God is in control. We can have Kingdom confidence in any season we face when we choose to fully trust, fully surrender, and fully depend on God.

Rise, daughter of the King, with Kingdom confidence. The best is yet to COME!
